Nordic collaboration on climate action

This Nordic project explored how we can improve our cooperation in the future to mainstream the gender perspective in efforts to combat climate change and in the green transition. The project is linked to the implementation of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Gender Action Plan (GAP) in the Nordic countries.

In April 2024, the project published a report A review of the Nordic implementation of the UNFCCC Gender Action Plan. The report describes the status and practices of gender mainstreaming in Nordic climate policy.

Watch the presentation of the report

We presented the report at a hybrid event on May 6, 2024. You can watch the recording here (in Finnish with subtitles). The presentation showcases the report’s findings, with a particular focus on promoting gender equality in Finland’s climate policy.

Webinars held in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark are also available for viewing. There is also an English version of the presentation.

More information

The Finnish component of the project is being carried out by Ekvalita and Equality Research Helsinki. The project as a whole is led by the Danish firm Norion Consult.

The report is part of an assessment commissioned by the Nordic Council of Ministers on the implementation of the UN Climate Change Agreement’s gender equality plan in the Nordic countries.
